Agricultural and Life Sciences
The Department of Agricultural and Extension Education provides agricultural education and leadership services through knowledge of and skills in educational programming, learning dynamics and developing technologies that enhance the lives of Idaho citizens.
We currently offer three degrees at University of Idaho Boise
- 2+2 Program between the College of Western Idaho and University of Idaho. After completing years one and two, you’ll earn your associate degree in agricultural science from CWI. You then transition to U of I and earn your Bachelor of Science in agricultural science from U of I without leaving the Treasure Valley. The program is designed for working professionals and individuals who are place-bound to offer an opportunity to earn a degree related to Idaho’s most prevalent industry.
In this program you will investigate the nutritional needs of the body and examine the role of vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and carbohydrates in the body’s biochemical process. Students who complete this program are eligible for the Registered Dietitian (R.D.) exam to practice as a licensed dietitian. Students will spend the junior year in the Moscow campus, senior year is based at U of I Boise or U of I Coeur d’Alene.
