Pollinators in Peril: What You Can Do

Join the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences in Sandpoint for two days of events focused on pollinators and their importance to the world around us. Special guests include world-renowned researcher and bee biologist Robbin Thorp. Whether you come to the Sandpoint Farmers Market for a free science kit, or to the Panida Theater for a short film and scientist panel, there is something for everyone to enjoy. All events are free and open to the public.

Renowned researchers and professors will share their expertise regarding the ecological importance of pollinators, recent population trends and bee population management. Attendees will come away with methods of practice to help bees and other pollinators prosper.

Come to the Wednesday Farmers Market to learn about insects and pollinators and receive a free science kit! Kids will learn about the importance of bees and other pollinators with hands-on activities and a take-home science experiment.

Joins us for two movies followed by an expert panel. The short films, “Old Man and The Bee” and “A Ghost in the Making” will explore the world of bees and pollination unknown to many. Following the films we will hear from expert entomologists as they share knowledge of native bees and their importance to the area.
