The purpose of advising is to help students achieve their academic and career goals. It is university policy that students meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes. Peer and faculty advisors are available to help with this endeavor. First-year and sophomore students are encouraged to meet with a peer advisor (Student Health Center – Room 211) prior to registration. Junior and senior students should meet with their faculty advisor.

Contact the department administrative coordinator if you need a faculty advisor or want to change advisors.

Peer Advising

Peer advisors are high-performing junior and senior psychology majors who have received extensive training on the university graduation requirements. They will work with you to review transcripts, degree requirements, and degree audit; plan course schedules; and provide additional resources for psychology students. Advisors are available for drop-in advising at the Student Health Center (Room 211). For current office hours and other information, please visit the .

For other questions about advising, contact the department administrative coordinator.
