Supporting the Sustainability Fund creates working capital for sustainable initiatives. The fund helps reduce waste, expand composting efforts, and improve recycling on the Moscow Campus. Through the funding of solar panels, it also helps advance the university's goal to be carbon neutral by 2030.
The University of Idaho Tree Fund helps fund a number of sustainability oriented activities. The Sustainability Center's Get Rooted program engages hundreds of student volunteers in replanting the Palouse prairie with native trees, shrubs and ground covers. Over 1200 participants have helped restore the Palouse prairie, creating new habitats for native wildlife, reducing maintenance costs and increasing the beauty of our local area.
