Food & Farm
Flex your sorting muscles today! Volunteer to teach Commons dining patrons how to sort their leftovers into compostable, recyclable and landfill containers. Volunteers receive a FREE MEAL from the Commons food court and are eligible to win a $100 meal voucher complements of campus dining! Volunteering is one hour long, between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every weekday. Sign up for , or !
Help us restore the roots of the Palouse Prairie by planting and maintaining native trees, shrubs and ground covers. During the last eleven years, over 2100 student volunteers have planted 5000 natives. Join the movement to reduce University of Idaho's carbon footprint.
Game Day Recycling
Volunteer to mingle with tailgaters! Support resource conservation by collecting recyclables from students, alumni and fans at football games. Shifts start an hour before the game and end two hours after the game starts. Sign up for , or ! (Free hot chocolate for volunteers in October and November)
Get Dirty with the Soil Stewards at the university's student-run farm. Learn the ways of organic farming by planting seedlings, weeding row crops and harvesting vegetables, all of which enables the farm to sell student-grown produce to Vandals Dining. You may even get to take some fresh produce home with you!
Spruce the Palouse
Conservation starts here! Join the Sustainability Center and partners as we clean up litter, remove invasive species or prune overgrown vegetation along Paradise Creek on campus and around the Palouse. Activities vary by date and season. Sign up for .
