World War I Exhibit – “At War!”

The effect of World War I on the University of Idaho, 100 years after the war, is explored in a new Special Collections and Archives exhibit on the .
Military Appreciation Football Game
11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center
Free football tickets are available for military and veterans. Events and activities in the Vandal Tailgate area honoring men and women who have served or are currently serving in the military.
- 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Vandal Tailgate in the parking lot west of the ASUI Kibbie Dome. Events include military vehicle static displays, climbing wall courtesy of the Idaho Army National Guard, booths, kids’ activities, Vandal Marching Band and Spirit Squad, Joe Vandal, prizes and giveaways.
2 – 6 p.m. Vandal Football vs. University of North Dakota in the ASUI Kibbie Dome. Numerous activities will be incorporated into the program to include large U.S. flag unveiling, special recognition of our active, guard, reserve and veteran population, player call-outs to their military family members and military and veteran support group recognition.
Navy / Marine Corps Birthday Ball
5-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, International Ballroom, Bruce M. Pitman Center (by invitation only)
The University of Idaho Navy ROTC cadre and midshipman will host a formal dinner to recognize the Navy’s birthday. There will be a social and cocktail hour prior to the formal portion of the event. Attendance is by invitation only. Please contact the NROTC department at the University of Idaho for more information. 5 p.m. social hour; 6 – 9 p.m. formal event and dinner.

Working with Veterans: Professional Discussion for Faculty and Staff

Retired Navy officer Mike Schindler, CEO of Operation Military Family Cares, will host a discussion on working with and instructing student-veterans while also addressing myths and perceptions. This is intended to be a frank discussion of both the challenges and potential rewards of working with veterans, who represent the largest non-traditional student population on campus.
U of I Veterans Day Ceremony
11-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, Memorial Gym Steps
This year we will recognize the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day, later renamed Veterans Day, on the steps of Memorial Gym with a simple narrative on the history and purpose of the day, accompanying music, and a wreath laying ceremony.

The Veterans at the University of Idaho, the university’s official student-veteran organization, will host a lunch and fellowship opportunity free to military and veteran students, faculty, and staff.

Marines of the Palouse host their annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball to celebrate 243 years of tradition. Moscow VFW and American Legion Veterans Day Events

The VFW and American Legion will recognize Veterans Day with a ceremony at the Moscow Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., and follow this with a BBQ and Coffee Cake social at the American Legion Cabin.
Veterans Appreciation Dinner
