Nominations for Athena Executive Board for 2018-2020

Nominations are now open for vacant positions on the Athena Executive Board for 2018-2020. Nominations may be submitted online at . The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, April 27 by 5 p.m.

The university community is invited to nominate a colleague, or submit a self-nomination, for one of the following open board positions. Athena Executive Board members serve a two-year term, and may seek re-election to the same or a different position on the Board upon conclusion of their term.

Vice President for Staff

The Vice President for Staff and the Vice President for Faculty shall act for the co-Presidents in their absence, shall coordinate the general membership meetings, and collaboratively perform all other duties pertaining to the office of vice president. Other duties may be assigned by the co-Presidents.

Vice President for Faculty

The Vice President for Staff and the Vice President for Faculty shall act for the co-Presidents in their absence, shall coordinate the general membership meetings, and collaboratively perform all other duties pertaining to the office of vice president. Secretary

The Secretary shall keep a record of all business meetings of Athena and the Board, inform the board members of the time and place of board meetings, and maintain the currently enforced board policies that will be appended to all newly approved by-laws. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents or the Executive Board.

Treasurer

The Treasurer shall be the custodian of all Athena funds of Athena. With the approval of the Executive Board, the treasurer shall expend such funds from the treasury as necessary to meet the expenses of Athena. The Treasurer shall keep an accurate record of all receipts and expenditures by Athena, report on present and projected financial conditions at each board meeting, and prepare an annual projected budget for approval by the Board. Other duties include: keeping a register of current members of the organization and performing such duties as customarily delegated to the office of Treasurer.

Communications & Marketing Officer

The Communications & Marketing Officer shall create and manage website content and assist with other communication to the membership and external entities as recommended by the Board. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents.

Staff Member-at-Large

The Staff Member-at-Large shall attend all meetings of the Board and exercise full board privileges and rights as outlined in the by-laws. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents.

Faculty Member-at-Large

The Faculty Member-at-Large shall attend all meetings of the Board and exercise full board privileges and rights as outlined in the by-laws. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents.

Idaho Falls Representative

The Idaho Falls Representative shall attend all meetings of the Board and exercise full board privileges and rights as outlined in the by-laws. The Idaho Falls Representative shall be responsible for recruiting and serving Athena members in Idaho Falls, including promotion of Athena programs, events, and opportunities, and organizing local social and networking gatherings. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents.

Boise Representative

The Boise Representative shall attend all meetings of the Board and exercise full board privileges and rights as outlined in the by-laws. The Boise Representative shall be responsible for recruiting and serving Athena members in Boise, including promotion of Athena programs, events, and opportunities, and organizing local social and networking gatherings. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents.

Coeur d’Alene Representative

The Coeur d’Alene Representative shall attend all meetings of the Board and exercise full board privileges and rights as outlined in the by-laws. The Coeur d’Alene Representative shall be responsible for recruiting and serving Athena members in Coeur d’Alene, including promotion of Athena programs, events, and opportunities, and organizing local social and networking gatherings. Other duties may be assigned by the Co-Presidents.
