Cultural Literacy and Equity Symposium

The University of Idaho’s Office of Equity & Diversity and the President’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion invites the university community to participate in the biennial (and newly-renamed) Cultural Literacy & Equity Symposium. Dedicated to the memory of Dr. Jane Baillargeon, a lifelong advocate and ally for diversity and inclusion issues at the university, the Symposium serves as an unique opportunity to deepen our Vandal family’s awareness, personal and professional skills, and institutional capacity building around cultural literacy and equity initiatives at the university.

The 2018 Symposium will take place on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, with special sessions geared towards staff and faculty, as well as a session for students only. The Symposium will be facilitated by Dr. JuanCarlos Arauz, Founding Executive Director of , who also served as the University of Idaho’s 2018 Latinx Heritage Month speaker. Dr. Arauz’s work is focused on promoting equity as a foundation for educational excellence. Click the Register box at the top of this page to confirm your attendance!
