Computer Science Cooperative (CO-OP) Education

What is a Co-Op?

Cooperative Education

Gain work experience that is related to your major or career goal. A typical program plan is for students to alternate terms of full-time classroom study with terms of full-time, discipline-related employment. A participant will do co-op for two separate semesters plus summers, gaining a year of career experience prior to graduation.

Co-Op Schedule

Co-op will normally occur during the middle of the junior and senior years. The co-op will consist of a spring semester and summer or a summer and fall semester.

How Does a Co-Op Work?

A student applies to the co-op program. If selected to participate, the student is matched with an industry partner with common interests. A set of learning objectives are developed with your industry partner. Students will be expected to do a presentation on their co-op experience at the end of each co-op period.

Co-Op Qualifications
