Spring Commencement
Spring commencement ceremonies are held in Moscow and at U of I centers. Learn more about ceremony guidelines.
Students eligible for graduation who want to participate in commencement must apply to graduate in VandalWeb and receive confirmation from their college dean's office that they are an eligible degree candidate.
Students who want to participate in commencement before completing their degree in a later semester must receive permission from their college dean's office to "walk through". Students wishing to walk through should apply to graduate in VandalWeb for the semester in which their degree requirements will be complete and then select their desired ceremony in the Ceremony Reservation section of the graduation application. Students will receive an email notification of the college's decision on the walk through request.

9:30 a.m. | Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center
Lineup begins at 8:15 a.m.
Degree candidates will line up dressed in full regalia at 8:15 a.m. along University Avenue near the Administration Lawn. College banners will be posted around the lawn area. Undergraduates will locate their college, graduate students will locate the College of Graduate Studies and law students will locate the College of Law. Line up and procession will happen rain or shine; ponchos will be provided for faculty and graduates in case of rain. The local bagpipe group, Border Highlanders Pipes and Drums, will line up in front of the platform party, faculty and candidates.
Around 9 a.m., the bagpipes will begin to lead the procession down University Avenue to the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center, where candidates and faculty will proceed to their seats. For many graduates, this will be a memorable last walk through campus as they begin the next chapter of their lives. With the historic Administration Building and lush lawn area close by, this is a perfect opportunity to photograph your special graduate.
Faculty and graduates will process into the Kibbie Center where graduates will be seated by college. After the procession concludes, the ceremony will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will last approximately three hours.
Tickets are not required for the event. Doors to the Kibbie Dome open will open to the public at 7:30 a.m. General admission seating is first-come, first-served. Concessions will be open; no alcohol or outside food allowed. will go on sale starting March 1 at 9 a.m. Prices for premium seating are $475 for a suite (seats 12), $150 for a loge (seats 4) or $20 each for club seats.
Parking may be reached by following Stadium Drive to the parking lot on the west end of the Kibbie Center.
Disabled access information is available for degree candidates and guests with disabilities from University Support Services. Additional questions may be submitted through the Commencement website.
Live web captioning in and (subtítulos en Español) will be available for connection on your mobile device at the ceremony. If necessary, to ensure the availability of a Sign Language interpreter please contact Amy Taylor at [email protected] or 111-111-6307 by April 27 to arrange a Sign Language interpreter. Guests unable to visit Moscow may watch the ceremony live online.
Official commemorative programs will be available for $10 at the ceremony. Flowers will be sold by the U of I Advertising Competition Team at the west entries to both the north and south concourses.
Immediately following the ceremony, colleges will host a celebration reception for graduates, guests, faculty and staff. Light refreshments and photo opportunities will be available. Graduate-level candidates and their guests may attend the celebration event according to their field of study.

Lineup begins at 6:45 p.m.
University of Idaho in Boise will hold its commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:30 pm at the Boise Centre at 850 W Front Street in Downtown Boise. Degree candidates will be recognized individually and presented a diploma case as their name and degree are read. All degree candidates are asked to meet at the Boise Centre at 6:45 pm for line up.
The University of Idaho Boise will host a reception immediately following the ceremony. Friends, family and faculty are invited to join in congratulating the new graduates. Light refreshments will be served.
Tickets are not required for the event.
Students or guests with disability-related needs are invited to contact Stephanie Fox at 111-364-6137 as early as possible to allow time to arrange needed services and access. Requests are very difficult to arrange on the day of commencement.

University of Idaho in Coeur d'Alene will hold its commencement ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 7 at Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center on the North Idaho College campus. Degree candidates will be recognized individually and presented a diploma case as their name and degree are read. All degree candidates are asked to meet at 6:45 p.m. to start line up procedures.
The President's Office will host a reception immediately following the ceremony. Friends, family and faculty are invited to join in congratulating the new graduates. Dessert will be served.
Tickets are not required for the event; however students are asked to email Juli Anderson at [email protected] to RSVP with the number of guests they are bringing by April 30.

University of Idaho in Idaho Falls will hold its commencement ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at the Willard Arts Center Colonial Theatre. Degree candidates will be recognized individually and presented a diploma case as their name and degree are read. All degree candidates are asked to meet at 7 p.m. to start line up procedures.
The President's Office will host a reception immediately following the ceremony. Friends, family and faculty are invited to join in congratulating the new graduates. Light refreshments will be served.

University Policies
Bag Checks: The University of Idaho is committed to continual improvement of our events and the safety and comfort of our guests. In the interest of enhanced safety, we will be conducting bag checks at all the entrances for the Moscow spring commencement ceremony. NO BAGS will be permitted for graduating students.
Firearms and Weapons: Individuals, including concealed carry permit holders, may not bring a firearm into the ASUI Kibbie Dome Complex, The Memorial Gym, or the Bruce M. Pitman Center. The University has posted signs that specify this restriction as set out in Idaho Code Section 18-3309 (2). [ed. 1-15]. Additionally, university policy prohibits weapons of any sort (to include knives) being brought into the Kibbie Dome.
Tobacco and Alcohol: The University of Idaho is a tobacco-free campus; the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco is not permitted on university property. Alcoholic beverages can only be consumed in approved locations on university property as per Idaho State Board of Education policy.
