Rock Creek Ranch Field Day
The University of Idaho Rangeland Center is inviting UI researchers, friends and university and state leaders to join UI President Chuck Staben at the near Hailey on June 28 to celebrate a new university collaboration there with ranch owners the Wood River Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy.
The field day will explore research and outreach opportunities for faculty and students in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Natural Resources and other UI colleges on the 10,400-acre working conservation ranch.
The June 28 event will feature the signing of a memorandum of understanding that outlines collaboration between the conservation groups and the university.
The agreement presents a shared vision to establish a sustainable rangeland research and educational opportunity in the heart of Idaho, where ranching, conservation, recreation and education intersect.
Those interested in joining the field day will meet at the Hailey Community Campus at 1811 Laurelwood Drive. Rideshare shuttles will leave at 8:45 a.m.
The celebration begins at the historic barn along the Rock Creek Road on the ranch at 9:30 a.m. The event will include engagement activities: information tables and nature walks. A hosted lunch is planned at 11:30 a.m.
Researchers and natural resource professionals are invited to attend an afternoon session to explore research and education opportunities at the ranch. A is available online.
