Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES)

The Center for Advanced Energy Studies () is a research and education consortium among , , , the University of Idaho and the . Headquartered in Idaho Falls, with complementary capabilities and programs at each of the participating universities, CAES works to solve regional energy challenges that have national impact. CAES research, capabilities, talent and infrastructure emphasize work in focus areas including advanced nuclear energy systems, advanced manufacturing, energy-water nexus, innovative energy systems and cybersecurity.

CAES affiliated institutions provide:

  • RESEARCH that delivers innovative, cost-effective and credible solutions that meet the demands of a carbon-constrained world.
  • EDUCATION that inspires the next generation of engineers, policy makers and the public to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
