U of I Student Receives Scholarship to Participate in WaterSmart Innovations (WSI) Conference

May 27, 2018

The Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) congratulates Micah Russell, a student of U of I's water resources graduate program, for receiving a scholarship to participate in the 2018 WaterSmart Innovations (WSI) Conference in October in Las Vegas.

Russell's scholarship pays up to $600 for travel, lodging, meals and miscellaneous expenses. The funding will allow Russell to present a research poster about using innovative remote sensing techniques to monitor seasonal water supplies, a topic he has been studying as part of his doctoral candidacy at U of I.

The scholarship's sponsors, Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and the Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR), allotted one of only 20 scholarships to U of I in recognition of its strong academic and research programs in the areas of water demand management, water supply and water conservation.
