UI Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Office of Undergraduate Research hosts a universitywide undergraduate research symposium in April. This annual symposium is designed to showcase and celebrate the research and scholarly work in all disciplines by undergraduates at the University of Idaho. The event is open to the public, so please join us.
The 2018 Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place Monday April 30, 2018 in the Bruce M. Pitman Center, from 11:30am - 1:30pm.
Here's what's in it for you:
- Practice your presentation skills
- Share research with an audience of peers and faculty
- Participate in scholarly aspects of research
- Boost your resume!
IMPORTANT: You must use the Abstract Submission link to submit an abstract to the symposium. The abstract should be no more than 200 words. Graphics and pictures are not permitted in abstracts. The abstract submission deadline is April 2, 2018.
Time Commitment: Students must set up their poster by 11am on April 30 and be present at their poster from either 11:30am - 12:30pm, or 12:30pm - 1:30pm. (Presenters will be assigned to one of these two presenting times).
Poster Specifications: A poster board with dimensions 48″ wide and 36″ high will be provided to you. For a quick setup, bring your 48″ by 36″ poster and several binder clips so that your poster can be quickly attached to the poster board. We highly recommend the 48” x 36” poster size.
Abstract or Artist's Statement
What is an abstract/artist's statement?
Each participant or team of participants will write a paragraph describing their project. For artistic submissions students may elect to include an artist's statement instead of an abstract. Abstracts/artist’s statements must be spell-checked, proof-read and approved by your research mentor.
