Why did you choose the University of Idaho?
I chose the University of Idaho because I wanted to gain hands-on pre-veterinary experience through my courses in the Animal and Veterinary Science department.

Microscopic Anatomy

Research Project?
I spent about a year and a half working in Dr. Eva Top’s lab on a project studying the correlation between antibiotic resistance and the spread of manure as fertilizer.

What is your favorite study tip?
Take breaks! I like to go to the library for 3 hours at a time. Every hour I take about ten minutes to get up and walk to the bathroom, then I check my phone there (away from my study desk), chill out for a couple minutes, and come back ready to work for another hour.

What is your go-to study snack?
Yogurt pretzels from Winco’s bulk section. I love the raspberry-flavored ones.

What are your plans for after graduation?
I’ll be starting veterinary school at Washington State University in the fall of 2017.
