Winter Sand and Gravel Cleanup Begins

Posted Mon, 26 Feb 2018 06:00:00 -0800

Spring break is a busy time as Facilities begins clearing sand and gravel from streets, walkways and parking lots. Parking and Transportation Services will post additional information on parking restrictions during this time to facilitate cleanup. Depending on the amount of gravel used, this process can continue to and even past commencement in May. Cleanup activities may throw gravel, requiring extra caution from everyone. Watch for the street sweeper and maintain a safe distance until you are clear to pass. You will also see Landscape staff using blowers and power brooms. Remember, these people are using hearing protection and may not hear or see you approach. Give them a wide berth for your own safety. Learn more and get other safety tips on the I-Safety website.
