Food & Farm
Flex your sorting muscles today! Volunteer to teach Commons food court patrons how to sort their lunch leftovers into compost, recyclable and landfill containers. Volunteering is one hour long, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every weekday. Volunteers receive a FREE MEAL from the Commons food court and are eligible to win a $100 meal voucher complements of campus dining! Sign up for , , , or !
Our most popular volunteer program, Get Rooted has engaged over 2100 student volunteers in replanting the Palouse prairie with more than 5000 native trees, shrubs and groundcover since beginning in 2007. We will teach you the importance of native trees and demonstrate proper tree planting procedures. Get Rooted is a fun and interactive way to spend part of your day. .
Game Day Recycling
Come to Game Day Recycling! Pregame volunteers mingle with tailgaters and help them recycle! Tailgate volunteering begins two hours before the game and ends half an hour into the game.
There's nothing like gardening and playing in the dirt at the Student Farm. Volunteers plant seedlings, weed row crops and harvest vegetables, all of which enables the farm to sell student-grown produce to Vandals Dining. .
Spruce the Palouse
Conservation starts here! Join in the effort to clean up litter in scenic places along Paradise Creek, in the Arboretum, and at Idler's Rest on Moscow Mountain. Sign up for April 14th or for April 21st.
Catch Basin Stenciling
To improve water quality and to remind the campus community that catch basins drain directly into Paradise Creek, volunteers have installed over 56 drains to stream medallions on campus. For more information contact the Sustainability Center at [email protected] or call 111-111-0125. .
